SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES
Come out and help us distribute poppies to individuals at the train station on Thursday and Friday. We give out poppies at the Route 25/Broadway Station and the Route 59/Meridian Station, both in Aurora. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 5:30 am and finish by 7:00 am. Any and all individuals wanting to help can just show up. For more information, call us at (630) 474-5084.
American Legion Band Free Concert - Saturday, May 28 2022
In honor of Armed Forces Day (observed on May 21) the Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post 84 is honored to host the American Legion Band in their first concert post-pandemic.
The concert is being held at West Aurora High School Auditorium, 1205 W New York Street, Aurora IL
Doors open at 2:45 pm and the concert starts at 3:00 pm
The American Legion Band will be performing for the community and as a salute to our active duty military and Veterans. They will perform patriotic standards as well as an ever expanding repertoire of pieces.

Cemetery Visitations
Every year members of the Roosevelt - Aurora American Legion Post 84 visit four cemeteries to pay respects to the fallen veterans of our community. The community is encouraged to attend. The members meet at the following:
8:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery located at 675 U.S. 30, Aurora
9:00 a.m. at Annunciation Cemetery located at 1820 Church Road, Aurora
9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Cemetery located on Route 25 at Mitchell Road, Aurora
10:00 a.m. at River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery located at 1650 S. River, Batavia IL

Memorial Day Parade
The Roosevelt - Aurora American Legion Post 84 participates in this parade. The City of Aurora annually remembers and honors all the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Come and show your appreciation and support by participating in the parade.
- The pre-parade program begins at 11:15 a.m. at the Reviewing Stand in front of the David L. Pierce Art & History Center on Downer Place.
- The parade begins at 12:00 pm.
Margaritas (with or without alcohol) with Military Women - Thursday, June 16
Roosevelt Aurora American Legion Post 84 will host an event to honor Women Veterans. "Margaritas (with or without alcohol) with Military Women on June 16, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at La Quinta De Los Reyes, in downtown Aurora. The event is free and open to any women Veterans.
Command Sergeant Major Dena D. Ballowe is the special guest for the event. She was selected as the Senior Enlisted Leader, Illinois National Guard on July 1, 2019. As the State Command Sergeant Major, Sgt. Maj. Ballowe serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Adjutant General - Major General Neely, advising on the training, management, and well-being of the Illinois National Guard’s 13,000 Soldiers and Airmen. She is the first woman to serve in the position.

Independence Day Parade - July 4th
The Roosevelt - Aurora American Legion Post 84 participates in this parade. Come and show your support by joining us as we march in this parade.

2nd Annual American Legion Golf Outing - Wednesday, September 21, 2022
Please join the Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post 84 for their 2nd Annual Golf Outing at Bliss Creek Golf Course. Post 84 is grateful to the generous sponsors who have helped us over the years. All proceeds benefit Active Military, Veterans and their families in our community and community organizations who support them.
VETERANS DAY - Monday, November 11, 2022
Parade
The annual Veterans Day parade is on November 11th with a parade kick off at 10:15 in Downtown Aurora. The parade will end at the GAR memorial hall with a 21 gun salute at exactly 11:00 am.
